Camp Chance graduates
Wednesday July 28th, 2010
Camp Chance was held for 4th and 5th graders from July 20 – 22. There were 116 youth that graduated. The 2010 camp was the 5th anniversary that Camp Chance has been held in Watertown. Since 2006, 514 youth have graduated from the program.
The focus of this youth program is to reduce violence, drug and alcohol abuse and negative behavior. This program also helps establish rapport with youth and to help them develop healthy relationships with Law Enforcement, the local community and with each other.
The success of this Watertown Police Department youth program would not be possible without
the help of our donors and volunteers. In 2010, over the course of 3 weeks, 170 volunteers contributed 2,049 hours at Camp Chance. This program is 100% funded by monetary and non-monetary donations and staffed by volunteers.
In 2009, a Police Fund was established at the Watertown Community Foundation which is a 501© (3) tax-exempt organization. Donations made to the Police Fund will help sustain the Camp Chance program.
